NEW - CHOMSKY TRIBUTE WEBSITE & EVENTS

Noted critic of US foreign policy Noam Chomsky will be 80 on 7 December 2008. JNV has supported the setting up of a Chomsky tribute website and is supporting or participating in a number of events. Please register your appreciation of Chomsky's contributions here.

NEW JNV DOCUMENT - NAMING THE DEAD OF AFGHANISTAN

On 7 October, Justice Not Vengeance and Voices in the Wilderness UK organised a remembrance ceremony to mark the seventh anniversary of the invasion of Afghanistan. Maya Anne Evans and others stood opposite Downing Street for seven hours reading the names of the 120 British soldiers and the names of hundreds of Afghan civilians who have died in the conflict. The lists of names can be found here.

NEW JNV DOCUMENT - SUBMISSION

Milan Rai gave written evidence to the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Human Rights in relation to Policing and Protest. The uncorrected transcript of his oral evidence to the Committee on 21 October can be found here.

On 21 August 2007, Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency reached a breakthrough agreement designed to clear up questions about Iran's nuclear programme - by December 2007. The US and the EU are demonstrating hostility, and trying to undermine this agreement.

The exhibition is about Britain's relationship with Iran over the last century. It is a beautiful and useful resource for gaining an understanding of a country that has been and will continue to be a target of Britain's foreign policy.
